To transform our health, addressing the body from a holistic perspective is the best approach. It is essential to consider not just the physical symptoms of the individual, but also the mental and emotional aspects of the total health picture. The best way to support meaningful and lasting change is to address the underlying issues. Very few supplements exert a truly holistic influence on the body. Cannabinoids such as CBD are definitely the exception to this norm.
What is cannabidiol (CBD) and more importantly, what does it do? Hemp is a chemical super-plant that produces many different compounds. These compounds can be found in other plant species, but more than sixty of them are specific to the cannabis plant. Scientists call these special compounds “cannabinoids.” Cannabinoids found in hemp are derived from the aerial parts of the plant. A particular cannabinoid called cannabidiol (CBD) appears to offer many medicinal and therapeutic benefits and is poised to change medicine as we know it today. CBD also has no severe side effects, making it an attractive natural option for the masses.
Because industrial hemp must contain less than 0.3% THC, it is non-psychoactive. In simple terms, it won’t get you high like medical marijuana.
CBD oil derived from industrial hemp with less than 0.3% THC is legal in all 50 states. Because it doesn’t get you high, it bypasses the federal ban on marijuana.
At Onyx & Rose, all of their premium CBD products are sourced from organic industrial hemp plants grown by some of United State’s finest farmers in Colorado, Oregon, and North Carolina. Our farming partners use the latest organic farming methods, to produce safe and cannabinoid-rich hemp plants that meet our standards of quality.
Much attention has been focused on the health benefits CBD because research suggests that CBD influences multiple areas of the mammalian body including, but not limited to:
The endocannabinoid system is composed of a network of neurons or receptors that when triggered, interact with and help to regulate other systems in the body. The body produces chemicals that can interact with this system, and those chemicals are endocannabinoids. Nature produces similar compounds that we can consume to interact with this system too. CBD and the related cannabinoids derived from hemp influence the body’s endocannabinoid system. There is an amazing self-regulatory aspect to this interrelated dynamic. CBD appears to help tonify a body system that is functioning sub-optimally. CBD and the other cannabinoids that are present in the hemp plant appear to perform holistically because they impact the endocannabinoid system directly. This impact allows CBD to influence multiple other body systems indirectly through the endocannabinoid system regulation. We don’t know of any other herbal medicines with the active ingredients to have such a beneficially broad sweeping action.
The effectiveness of cannabidiol long term has shown to be greater when it is taken as a full or broad spectrum instead of as an isolate. There is a synergy in nature that we often lose when we try and isolate particular molecules. Thankfully more medical and wellness professionals searching for new drugs are realizing that we don’t necessarily have to improve on nature, but figure out how we and nature fit together to achieve optimal benefits. Full Spectrum CBD is a gift from nature that is worth considering.
